Background * History
- Angelite was originally found in Peru in 1987. The meaning of Angelite name comes from its strong vibration to make contact with the angelic realm. It is a lilac, pale blue gem variety of Anhydrite gypsum. Anhydrite is a gem formed from the compression on Celestite over a period of millions of years. It can also be found in white, grey, blue, pink and red color. Some pieces may be bluish white with the occasional tiny red Hematite inclusions. It looks like a Blue Calcite, but it is denser and quite opaque. Angelite is quite uncommon stone, which is formed in crystals, generally in massive form. It is closely related to Celestite.

- To clean your Angelite, simply use soapy water and a soft cloth. Be sure to rinse well to remove soapy residue. As with most gemstones, ultrasonic cleaners and steamers are not recommended. When storing gemstones or gemstone jewelry, store them inside a fabric-lined box or wrapped in a soft cloth separately from other type of gemstones to prevent damage or scratches. It is best to remove any jewelry before engaging in any strenuous physical activity, such as exercise or sports. Avoid spraying perfume or hairspray on your precious gems.
